Hi, was wondering any deliveries outside of the UK, say the Netherlands by any chance?

Hi Paul. We find that the best way with this kind of delivery arrangement is for you to arrange a courier / delivery service locally to yourself. We csn liase wth the courier and arrange a meet point in the North West. There is a site - SHIPLY.COM that may be of interest to you. As for delivery charges we will contribute but do not cover in full. Please mail us direct <mailto:>ryan@factory-beds-direct.co.uk if you have any further questions. John and Ryan.

Hi,

My Husband and I are in need of your expert advice. I am an extreme fidgeter in bed, and 4 out of 7 nights a week I will wake my husband up whom them finds it difficult to go back to sleep again. This obviously is not an ideal situaiton. We are therefore looking into a new mattress, one which may help to prevent my husband from feeling me fidget. What are your reccommdations? Happy to upsize to a King as currently we have a standard double bed.

Many thanks,
Becky Thomas.
Hi Rebecca. A good point you raise about double sizes. It has to be said that in all cases it is advised that when you can - and if you can - to upsize to as big a bed as your room can comfortably take. A double bed at four foot six gives you only two foot three inches of sleeping space each which really is rather inadequate, particularly for fidgeters or tossers/turners.
In your case you have two options. One to upsize to a Kingsize bed at five foot (or even superking at 6') , or, to have a kingsize ziplink bed (2 x 2.6" each) which can be completely separated if neccessary to give your husband a decent nights sleep.
There is also the question begging to be asked on the reasons why you are prone to fidgeting/tossing/turning. Although we do not claim to be experts in actual sleeping habits, it stands to reason that if you are uncomfortable in your sleeping position say through a worn out mattress your body will be constantly adjusting whilst you sleep to obtain a more comfortable position.
Finally, never underestimate the condition of your pillows! The one source of many a bad nights sleep. Your neck should be supported and alligned to your spine but unfortunately only trial and error will show what level of pillow firmness will suit you both. As a sidenote to your dilemma, and if you think your mattress is in good enough condtion not to warrant replacement, it may be an idea to use two separate single duvets to reduce the risk of disturbance.

Hi there, just wondering do you deliver to Ireland? or is it just mainland UK?
Hi Malcolm, We do deliver to Eire and Northern Ireland via our courier. Time scale becomes within three weeks and the 2 man courier will still take to room of choice [but not assemble].

However, there are some exceptions to our normal terms of trading which we believe are more than fair. The rough outline is that we still deliver completely free of charge, even though the charges we incur from our courier is substantially higher than normal to Ireland, However, in the very unlikely event you should wish to return the mattress or set, we ask you to pay just £25 towards the return [via our courier] costs.

The courier firm we use for ALL our deliveries are top notch and highly proffesional. But we do pay top dollar for their service. You will be kept in the loop at all times by ourselves and also the courier. A pre-arranged dellivery date will be arranged with a AM or PM time slot. You will also be called at least one hour on the day of delivery to inform you they are on the way.

For the benefit of other readers we can deliver to many parts of offshore UK - Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Wight etc. Please contact us if you wish to discuss further. Thanks for your question Malcolm. John and Ryan.

Hi John

We are from Oxfordshire and will be moving into our new self-build house later this year, and are looking to replace our very old bed (we both have back problems, unsurprisingly!) We recently stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel in London and had a fantastic night's sleep on their lovely big bed. They kindly provided me with the specification, which I tried to type into here, but ran out of space! However, this is an idea of what we are after: 7ft x 6ft 9in (or 7ft x 7ft) deep firm edge pocket sprung divan, with a wool and silk 2000 or 3000 pocket mattress with side stitching and FR damask. (The Royal Garden's bed had a 1400 count - will 2000/3000 be even better??) And will we need to have two separate mattresses for this size bed? We are both tall people, and my husband weighs around 17 stone. This is a really important purchase for us, so I would be very grateful for any help you can give. I am severely deaf so don't communicate that well by phone, though can do so if you feel it is really necessary. Many thanks.
Hi Karen, The bottom line is Yes we can help you and it will not cost you a fortune. The fillings and spec you describe are high end and of course that is our speciality - usually half the price of an equvalent model.
This will indeed be in two sections (zipped andf linked) Both you and your husbands bodyweight will be taken into consideration and the pocket springs [which at this level should be calico housed] will be tailored to each mattress - yours and your husband's.
All fabrics on mattresses in this country are FR (Fire Retardant) grade dependant on the establishment [domestic or residential].
Hand Side stitching should be standard on this level of mattress - at this size three rows is more than adequate.

Finally Karen, I'm afraid there will have to be lengthy discussion to get this purchase correct. Much can be done by email and Ryan will mail you this reply with a few initial questions in order to be able to give a quotation. Many thanks. John.

Please can you help? I am looking for a new superking size zip and link divan bed with storage. I currently have a Hypnos Emerald 1200 mattress (on a slatted bedstead) which was bought 5 years ago and is extremely uncomfortable / painful for me (sore pressure points and bad back which has got progressively worse) although my husband finds it quite comfortable. I am 11st and he is 17st. I think possibly the medium / firm tension is too hard for me. We stay in good hotels very often -generally the beds have lots of comfort layers and I always sleep very well and don't have the pain. I have been looking at the Sealy Posturepedic pocket collection Venezia or Katerina 2200. My reasoning for this is that I like lots of soft comfort layers but with alot of support - but I am worried that it might be too soft a tension for me and particularly my husband long term. I am struggling to find an option that has a high pocket spring count to give the support we need, with a latex layer (which we both agree we like) in a medium rather than soft tension (or one of each) along with a zip / link option. Can you help?
Hi Anita, please give Ryan a call and he will be able to go through the options with you. It's not an easy task trying to find a mattress for people with such differing bodyweights and as you rightly say, a ziplink option of different tensions is the way to go. John.

I am looking for a zip and link set 6 x 6'6 . My husband admits to 20st and 6'3 tall so thought this the best option but which mattress? I am 11st. I think I would prefer pocket springs but am open to your recommendation. I will also need to purchase another zip and link set in a couple of months times to accommodate students/spare beds -- what would you recommend
Hi Janice, In cases like this it is no easy task to accommodate two vastly differing bodyweights on one mattress and equally, will be difficult (but not imposssible) to put together a ziplink option that will suit you both. I really do need more information from you before making any kind of suggestion. Please give us a call in order to progress further. John

Hi, I have been looking at the website and decided on the bed only to see you dont deliver to postcodes starting with EX. Is this permanent? or would I be able to get a bed delivered in the future.(we need it for Christmas)
Many thanks, Best wishes, Sally.
Hi Sally. As above, we have now extended our delivery area. Please order as usual - the delivery firm will contact you with a convenient delivery date and delivery will be within 14 days of ordering - well in time for Christmas.
Even if you live in the Outer Hebrides I will always try my best for you. Obviously, the courier delivery will be the biggest cost but if you know of any alternative means I will gladly assist. John.

No point north of Carlisle, eh? That's a pity, as I like your site, I like your offers, but I live in Edinburgh.
What have you got against us Scots?
Just kidding. Let me know if you start delivering up here.
Paul
Hi Paul. I have now increased the delivery area to Edinburgh so feel free to order as much as you like:)
It was the delivery firm who limits the area but we have now agreed a fixed price to take in Edinburgh as the furthest point North. Feel free to call me direct to discuss your order. John.

Hi there

We've tried out a Vi-Spring Regal Supreme Superking size with matching base at our local store and love the look and feel of it but even in the sale it was out of our price range. We were quoted for the divan base, mattress (medium) and a Vi-spring Atlas headboard all in Romo (purple) colour. Just wondered if you could let us know what price you could get the above for?
Many thanks. Emily.
Hi Emily, At nearly five grand for the set it's no wonder you fell in love with it. However, you did bring up an interesting point about which way to go once you have found your bed but the price is prohibitive. In this case, do you really need the headboard and the base? How much would you be able to get just the mattress for. Vi Spring retailers invite you to phone them asking for their best price. Do this. Once you have asked a few you will soon come to see what the SRRP is and then make your choice as to who is offering the best price and service.
We are able to provide a similar built mattress in all but name (and this applies to all premium manufacturers - not just Vi-Spring) so feel free to give me a call to discuss. John.

I suffer from low back pain and currently need to sleep with a pillow between my knees. I have a wooden bed frame with wooden slats. The matress is a silentnight and was purchased over 5 years ago (may even be 10 - I can't remember). I recently went on holiday and slept in a travel lodge - the bed was very firm and I had the best nights sleep for several nights running. When I returned home and slept in my own bed then I woke with lower back pain and did so for a number of nights. I realise that I need a firmer matress but am unsure what to go for. Can you help/advise? I live in Bristol. Thanks.
Hi Tina, I don't think anyone would disagree that this level of discomfort is a sure sign that your current mattress needs replacing. One point I would make that may be subject to disagreement is that you should not be 'guessing' as to what mattress may or may not be the right replacement. This firmer mattress you allude to? Is it going to be firmer by use of firmer springs? or firmer by use of firmer primary comfort layers? or both? Your weight will have an effect on what you choose and your budget will define as to what choices are available. Please mail me and we can go through all the available options in a bit more detail.
