BRIEF: Our Artisan Naturals is manufactured to contain a majority amount of premium natural fibre and, it is also the mattress where we comfortably place our reputation when we say – this is amongst the very best you can get for this price. In fact we can guarantee that you just cannot find better.
This is priced particularly low in comparison to more established brands in order for us to set the bar in comparing branded mattresses with similar components. If this is in the region of your maximum budget then you will be getting the best mattress you can buy.
PRIMARY LAYERS:
FIRST LAYER: 1200 gsm Blended Wool and Cotton. This is similar / same as the primary layer as used on many Vi Spring models where they utilise a blended wool and cotton layer [although their breakdown is never divulged - ours is a 50/50 mix] This is a premium comfort component and also used on our Artisan Luxury and Artisan Bespoke models.
SECOND LAYER: 1250 gsm: Rebound Poly Cotton: 50% Cotton blended with 50% polyester to obtain a good level of comfort and support. Extremely high recovery property.
THIRD LAYER: 1500 gsm Pure 100% Mohair: Superb and premium foundation for the following comfort layers.

GSM: Primary layers total 3950 GSM. This is on BOTH SIDES.
TURN: This is a full two sided mattress. Turn and rotate regularly.
SPRINGS: 1360 (KS) Six turn, 54mm Diameter, premium nested, hand tied and hand formed pocket springs . These are individually sewn, calico encased, strung together and can be easily compared to Vi-Spring, Savoir Beds and other top end manufacturers who use traditional calico encased pocket springs (there are not many manufacturers who do so).
There are three tensions available Soft [1.40mm] Med [1.52mm] Firm [1.60]. Advice will be given as to which will suit you best upon initial enquiry.

DUAL TENSIONS:
We can also accommodate people of differing bodyweights. In this instance we can have your mattress made with Dual Tension springs e.g: Half the mattress with SOFT springs and half the mattress with MEDIUM springs. Likewise, Half Medium and Half Firm.
DETAILING: Two rows GENUINE hand side stitching. Side panel depth 9″ between the seams but the undulations caused by the mounds of wadding brings the total depth to about 11 – 12″. The mattress has been traditionally hand tufted with woollen tufts.
FABRIC: A soft white jaquard 60%Viscose and 40% Cotton Damask.
BASE: Matching base is 12″ depth plus 2″ for castors. This has been built to a higher than average spec completely covered in matching fabric and will always come sprung edged (open coils) as standard.
The base is a Firm Edge similar to Harrisons True Edge base where the base sides are to the top of the divan and the springs are inset. This will not sag.
SUMMARY: This has been specifically built to enable us to say “you just cannot get a better built mattress for this price”. Support from the premium spring unit can be tweaked softer to firmer to suit your own individual bodyweight or indeed have half firm and half medium as required and at no additional charge.
The internal upholstery is amongst the best you can get for this price range and all this combined ensures that this mattress will be exceptionally hard to beat for build, comfort and more importantly, price.
The exact contents and build of this mattress have been purposefully and excessively detailed in order that you can do precise comparisons with any other pocket sprung mattress that contain similar components. It is worth taking extra note of the quality of the spring unit; there are less than a handful of high end manufacturers who use calico springs in their mattresses, they are not to be confused with polypropylene encased mass produced units.
The main points to bear in mind when considering this mattress really is the substantial layers of upholstery and the fact that it is a full double sided mattress. A total of 3950 GSM of premium wadding is well above the norm and if you use this one aspect alone as a lead for comparison it will not take you too long to weedle out the mattresses relying on brand name and not content.
