BRIEF: This is a stunning mattress with a specification that just does not match the price tag. Unlike a traditional pocket sprung system this type of spring arrangement is not normally counted but classed as a suspension system. There are in fact well over 2000 individual pocketed units but read below and take into account the actual arrangement of the springs.

SPRINGS: Suspension pocket sprung unit incorporating main pocket springs and shorter suspension springs. As described in the ‘About Pocket Springs’ section, there are various combinations of suspension pocket spring, the most famous being the spring in spring type from Harrisons Beds and Somnus. All suspension systems work in a similar way as having a main spring and a progressive spring to take any additional weightload. This is known as progressive support. This image shows the normal white springs interlaced with the blue suspension springs.
In this particular mattress the pocket springs are arranged in nested rows of normal pocket springs alternated with smaller and softer suspension pocket springs.
DETAILING: Absolutely stunning looking and superb finished mattress. Two rows genuine hand side stitching for complete edge support.
FABRIC: The fabric is a top of range monogrammed double knit jersey from Anton Cramer and Co. This is gloriously soft and utilised in order to accentuate the soft waddings beneath. Although the image below is a good representation it really does not do the mattress any justice.

BASE: Standard platform top base at 12″ plus 2″ for the glides.
SUMMARY: The supposed benefit of this kind of spring arrangement makes a huge difference to the level of comfort as offered by a traditional pocket spring arrangement. There is no ‘shock’ where the springs take the maximum load and supports it, but a transitional support between the main spring taking the bulk of the weight and the softer spring taking the excess.
The mattress is completely double sided and traditionally hand tufted giving the mattress an overall medium tension.
In short, this is a very well crafted mattress offered at a price that makes some well known branded mattresses in the same price range look like rubbishy tat.
